Video Ghost HDMI

The best device for image acquisition

VideoGhost Pro and VideoGhost Max are extended versions of this product with the ability to be controlled by the virtual COM port and the hardware COM port. An external computer application can capture the screenshot of the monitored DVI, HDMI or VGA interface. VideoGhost Pro / Max can be used as a USB mass storage device, virtual COM port or even as a classic serial RS-232 device. The external button speeds up the standard operations, such as screenshot or switching between modes. VideoGhost Pro / Max are devices that can be flexibly adapted to any application. They are supplied with a source code example that simplifies the integration process with other systems.
The tiniest frame grabber in the world
How does this work?

VideoGhost is a small innovative frame grabber hidden inside a standard video cable. It can capture the video signal from a computer or laptop. The built-in powerful FPGA chip and the microprocessor enable the captured video signal to be converted into a JPEG image and recorded in the built-in memory with 16 gigabytes of storage space. VideoGhost is a purely electronic device, which means that it does not need any drivers or software and does not affect video transmission to the monitor or television.

VideoGhost VGA
Starting the device is very easy: Simply connect the video logger between the video connection and the monitor or television. Then connect the USB cable to a free USB input (only to power the device).

How can I view the recorded images?
Viewing the saved images is similar to a digital camera. The video logger is displayed as a removable drive that contains the captured images as JPEG files. These images will also contain information about the time and date of the recording.

Virtual COM port mode
VideoGhost Pro and VideoGhost Max have a USB interface for the virtual COM port, i.e. communication with any PC application is possible. The virtual COM port offers the following options:

Send commands to VideoGhost Pro / Max
Read, save and store the VideoGhost Pro / Max configuration
Screenshot of the DVI / HDMI / VGA interface and transmission on demand
Transfer of the archived JPEG image

With the source code in C #, sample software is supplied that shows all the possibilities of VideoGhost Pro / Max.

USB stick mode
The USB stick mode is available similar to the standard VideoGhost. The recorded screenshots are saved in JPEG format and can be viewed in a similar way to a digital camera. The video logger is displayed as a removable drive with the captured images in JPEG format. These images will also contain information about the time and date of the recording.

button
VideoGhost Pro / Max has an external button that enables a quick screenshot on demand and speeds up the switch between USB stick mode and virtual COM port mode.

Hardware COM port
The hardware COM port is available in the VideoGhost Max. It provides the same package of options as the virtual COM port (with the exception of the transfer of full images). This enables communication with VideoGhost Max through any external device using the RS-232 protocol.
